Social Media for Movies

Recently I see many movies being promoted in Social Media before and after release that's the reason why I write this post. In this post I will try to explain how Social Media can be used for promoting movies.

FACEBOOK
Facebook is the right place for promoting about the movie before release. When the audio is launched or when the first trailer comes, create a page in Facebook and start promoting the movie with latest visuals, photo-shoot, interview, songs, videos etc. 
Facebook is the place with large number of audience, thus try to share more updates and try to keep the audience engaged. This will help in creating a high during the release of the movie.  

TWITTER
Twitter is the tool that should be used at day or two before the release of the movie or use after a day or two of release. In Twitter you can conduct some contests for promoting the movie. Example making a tie-up with PVR or Book my show and proving free tickets for the winners of the contest. By announcing this goodies we are trying to engage as much as users as possible. 
The difference in Facebook and Twitter is , Twitter doesn't work without goodies. Even in Facebook we can conduct contests to make more customer engagement. 

PINTEREST
Pinterest is the area which not tapped by many movie promoters but it can be a great tool if it used in a proper way. The users of Pinterest are increasing day by day, and the greatest advantage of using Pinterest is it provides visual engagement to the customers. You can share pictures about the movie , videos about the movie using Pinterest and its a great tool for promoting movie. It is same like putting posters or banners about the movie, but the difference is here we are doing online.

YOU-TUBE
You-tube is the tool which is used by all movie promoters, they share videos, songs, trailers about movie etc in You-tube. It also provides more customer engagement when it is linked with other social medias.

BLOGGER
Blog is something which is not used much by movie promoters, but it is great tool if used. Using blogger customers can share their view points/reviews about movie. There are many movie blogger, music bloggers, etc. if we could engage them then it is a great tool.

NOTE
None of these tools are great tool if used alone, these tools can be made used effectively only if they are inter-connected with all Social Medias.

Pinterest - for business


Over past few months, you may have heard some chatter about the brand new Social Network called Pinterest.It is one of the fastest growing Social Network.




So what is Pinterest ?? 


Pinterest is a social network site which allows users to share visual contents. It allows users to make boards and pin images or videos into it. The users can follow other boards, repin etc. 
  • A Pin: A pin is the image added to the users board in Pinterest.
  • Board: The pinned images are collected in the board. It is like creating an album and uploading photos into it in Facebook. The user can make any number of boards. 
  • Pinning: The act of adding photos, i.e sharing photos.
  • Repin: It is the act of re-posting someone else post. Similar to share in Facebook or ReTweet in Twitter.
  • Pin it Button: It is the pin it button placed in users website which allows them to directly pin it to Pinterest.
  • Pinner: Is the person who pins. 

Uses of Pinterest for Business: 


  • Using Pinterest the business can provide visual appeal to customers. Example: Fashion Store providing pictures about the apparels or other beauty accessories, Restaurant proving pictures about the food, E-commerce store proving pictures about the products etc.. There is no limit for the creativity. Thus it conveys message easily to customers.
  • The Business can share their charts or info-graphics about their performance.
  • The Business can share the happy customers photos, it helps in engaging the customers. 
  • The Business can conduct contests in Pinterest, it also helps in customers engagement and getting new customers. 
  • They can create a video gallery about the usage of product. 
  • Just like Twitter, Facebook, Google+ etc Pinterest also support HashTags, it can be used for keyword search.
